Ka huna

I have done my Ka huna training at Mette`s Institute in Australia and it was an adventure for body, mind and spirit. It really allowed me to connect with my spiritual and creative self and I felt I found a way to express myself and heal myself. The training was very challenging at times because it is based on releasing our own inner demons but it was totally worth it.

During the treatment I also have crystals in the room that I use and I always call in both the client`s and my own spirit guides to help guide the session. Most importantly I use an open heart, Ka huna works with the Aloha energy. That’s what makes Kahuna massage so special and different from most other massages – the practitioners come from a place of Aloha and massage with loving intent.

Ka Huna massage can be a life changing experience for so many people, and for others, sometimes it’s just a good rub. It depends on where the person is at, how willing they are to receive and what they have got going on in their lives.

Ka huna massage therapy is an ancient practice that has been used for its health benefits, emotional impact and deep relaxing qualities for centuries,  is an ancient therapeutic massage technique based on the teachings and practices of the Hawaiian Kahunas.

In the language of native Hawaiians, the word “kahuna” is derived from “huna” which means “secret knowledge.” The massage (“lomi lomi”) was traditionally practiced in the Hawaiian Islands as one of the Ka huna healing arts and for relaxation. Ka huna massage in the West is also said to be therapeutic and extremely relaxing.

The Ka huna massage is often said to be a holistic natural therapy that is designed to heal the body, mind, and spirit. The practitioner uses their hands, elbows, fingers and even their forearms as they rhythmically move around the table. The people who have experienced lomi lomi before often said that the rhythmic motions alone already have a deeply relaxing effect that is different from the muscle relaxation coming from conventional massages. The treatment  is said to stimulate some of the human body systems such as the lymphatic, circulatory, respiratory, and digestive systems. It is also may have a therapeutic benefit for various disorders including irritable bowel syndrome, asthma, and headaches. It is also said to be beneficial for certain emotional problems such as:

  • Stress
  • Depression
  • Grief
  • Exhaustion
